Last updated on 18 August 2022

1. Use of the Virtual Card

1.1 Purchase of Services may be debited from the Virtual Card of the Virtual Card Holder up to the value of the allocated credit value only.

1.2 Use of the Virtual Card will be facilitated by the ticketing agent used for the original booking for which the credit has been issued under the Conditions of Carriage.

1.3 Air New Zealand reserves the right to retrospectively adjust the amount of charges debited to the Virtual Card in the event of incorrect entries whether due to our mistake or otherwise.

2. Use of Virtual Card

2.1 Virtual Cards can only be used to purchase the following Services from Air New Zealand:

  1. New Air New Zealand 086 tickets;
  2. any other services or products that Air New Zealand may notify from time to time as eligible Services;

2.2 In addition to these Terms and Conditions, Air New Zealand's tariffs, Conditions of Carriage and the terms and conditions applicable to the fare type purchased will apply to all travel on flights operated by Air New Zealand and the applicable supplier's tariffs and terms and conditions will apply to all other Services purchased.

2.3 Each Virtual Card is valid for use only during the period stated at the time it is provided to the applicable ticketing agency and remains the property of Air New Zealand at all times. Air New Zealand may extend the validity period at its sole discretion.

2.4 Notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms and Conditions, the Virtual Card Holder shall remain liable at all times for the performance or non-performance of its agents (including ticketing and/or booking agent) or other third parties that it may use from time to time to manage any aspect of the Virtual Card and provide related services including, without limitation, booking Services on the Virtual Card Holder's behalf.

2.5 The Virtual Card Holder and its agents (including ticketing and/or booking agent) shall take all reasonable precautions to keep all Virtual Card details safe and secure and to prevent misuse of the Virtual Card. Air New Zealand and other parties accepting Virtual Cards shall not be responsible to enquire as to whether the holder of a Virtual Card has authority to use the Virtual Card, except where the Virtual Card Holder has advised Air New Zealand in writing that the Virtual Card has been compromised and such written advice from the Virtual Card Holder has been acknowledged in writing by Air New Zealand.

2.6 Where a refund of charges incurred against a Virtual Card is permitted under the applicable tariffs, conditions of carriage or other terms and conditions applicable to the Services purchased, the refund will be made to the Virtual Card and any other form of payment used to purchase the relevant Services and will be subject to such charges for changes or cancellation applicable to the Services purchased.  Any amount returned to a Virtual Card will retain the original validity period as set out in these Terms and Conditions. Any credit returned to the Virtual Card after the expiry of the validity period will automatically expire.

3. Use of the credits loaded onto a Virtual Card

3.1 If the original flight for which the credit was issued was a refundable fare, the credit is also refundable until the credit is used, in whole or in part.  Once any part of a credit is used, any remaining credit balance becomes non-refundable.   Any refund requested will be processed to the original form of payment until any part of the credit is used, or the validity period has expired, whichever is earlier.

4. Termination

4.1 In the event that:

  1. the Virtual Card Holder or its agents or other third parties breaches these Terms and Conditions; or
  2. any Virtual Card issued in connection therewith is not used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions,

Air New Zealand may, in addition to any other remedies available to it, suspend or terminate the Virtual Card, and the validity of Virtual Card's issued in connection therewith, at any time and without notice.

4.2 If we cease to operate as an airline, we may terminate the Virtual Card programme at any time without notice.

4.3 Virtual Card Holders may terminate their Virtual Card at any time by providing notice in writing to Air New Zealand.

5. Amendments

5.1 Air New Zealand may in its sole discretion vary these Terms and Conditions. Notice of the amendments will be given by Air New Zealand publishing the updated Terms and Conditions on our website, www.airnewzealand.com.au/virtual-card-terms-and-conditions. Presentation of a Virtual Card following the expiry of such a notice will constitute acceptance of the variations of the Terms and Conditions.
