Manage, change or cancel flight bookings

You can view, change or cancel your flight, add an extra bag, select your seat, request a copy of your electronic ticket and more.

If your travel has been impacted by COVID-19, we're offering you the option to hold your fare in credit, or make changes online.

Your credit will be for the full cost of your unused ticket. It will remain valid for rebooking within 12 months from the date the credit was issued.

  • If you booked through a travel agent, please ask them to manage your changes
  • Please note, if you purchased a non-refundable ticket, it remains non-refundable unless local legislation requires a refund to be made available

View your bookings with your Airpoints™ account

If you're an Airpoints™ member, you can view all your flight bookings in one place. Simply sign into your account and choose My Flight Bookings under My Bookings. If you haven't yet registered, register now.

To add future bookings to your account, please sign in, select See my bookings then Add a missing booking. You can either enter your Air New Zealand reference or flight information.

Please note - not all bookings are able to be accessed online. Your Airpoints membership number must be in your booking to view it in your account.

Manage booking options

Whichever way you retrieve your booking, you will see range of options depending on the booking type. These may include requesting a copy of your electronic ticket, requesting seats, changing your booking and cancelling your booking. Details of which booking types can be changed and cancelled are below.

You can also manage your bookings in the Air NZ mobile app.

Please note, any changes or cancellations will apply to all travellers in the same booking.

If you have booked directly with Air New Zealand and require a copy of your receipt, you can request one by contacting Air New Zealand.

Changing a booking

Domestic and international bookings can be changed online, subject to the fare rules. You'll only pay the difference in fare plus a change fee (if applicable) and you won't need to pay a service charge.

If you cannot change your booking online, please contact us. Service fees will apply for changes made via the contact centre.

Cancelling a booking

If you are travelling on a Tasman, Pacific or New Zealand Domestic Smart Saver fare, the fare becomes non-changeable on the day of departure. If you miss your flight you will be required to purchase a new one way ticket.

Bookings for domestic and international travel may be cancelled online, subject to the following considerations:

  • Flexi fares and Business fares may be cancelled up until departure and are fully refundable with the exception of Flexitime and Business Saver fares
  • A booking must be cancelled in full, i.e. both the outbound and return flights if a round trip

When cancelling online, a refund will be credited to the original form of payment you used to make the booking. We encourage you to make sure you check in on time or advise us if your plans change. For further assistance, please call us on 13 24 76.
