Travel between New Zealand and Australia

Additional travel restrictions

Effective immediately, all customers arriving in Sydney or Melbourne are required to proceed directly to their place of residence or accommodation, and obtain a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of arrival. This can be either a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) or PCR test. Customers must self-isolate until a negative test result is received.

Onward travel is permitted for those wishing to travel beyond Sydney or Melbourne, provided you meet the entry requirements into the state you wish to travel to.

These restrictions will remain in place until more is known about the severity and transmissibility of the new COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Please visit the Australian Department of Home Affairs website and the Unite Against COVID-19 website for more information.
