In addition to our Star Alliance partners, Air New Zealand has partnerships and agreements with a number of selected airlines to provide you with even more flight options and benefits around the world.

Qualifying partner airline flights

Airpoints members are able to earn both Airpoints Dollars and Status Points with the qualifying partner airlines below. Travel must be on an Air New Zealand flight number and ticketed booking. Use our Airpoints calculator to see how many potential Airpoints Dollars and Status Points you could earn.

Refer to each of the below partner airline pages for detail on which booking classes qualify to earn Airpoints Dollars and Status Points.

  • Cathay Pacific on flights between Auckland and Hong Kong (NZ4992/NZ4994/NZ4993/NZ4995) and between Christchurch and Hong Kong from December 2017 (NZ4998/NZ4999)
  • United on flights between Auckland and San Francisco (NZ9816/NZ9817)
  • Air China on flights between Auckland and Beijing (NZ3888/NZ3889) 
  • Singapore Airlines on flights between Auckland and Singapore (NZ3281/NZ3282/NZ3285/NZ3286), Christchurch and Singapore (NZ3297/NZ3298) and Wellington and Singapore (NZ3247/3248)    

Code share and air share agreements

Air New Zealand also has code share and air share agreements with selected airlines. Airpoints Dollars can be claimed for travel on these flights when booked with an Air New Zealand flight number (e.g. NZ4010). Current potential earning rates can be viewed in the Partner airline flights section of the Airpoints calculator. Status Points are not able to be earned on these flights. Lounge access is available in some circumstances, but no other Airpoints frequent flyer benefits are available on these flights.
