Flexi fares give you great flexibility for travel to New Zealand and our Pacific¹ destinations.
Flexi fares can be changed right up until departure. There's no change penalty to pay, although you'll have to pay the difference in the cost of the new fare (if any) plus a service fee. Please note your ticket is not transferable to another person.
Terms & Conditions
- Tasman and Pacific¹ Flexi fares may be changed to another Air New Zealand Tasman or Pacific fare right up until departure by calling 13 24 76. Additional payments will apply as follows:
- a Contact Centre or Travelcentre service fee of AUD30 per person, per one way journey
- where a change requires the purchase of a higher priced fare, the difference between the original fare and the upgraded fare is payable
- product upgrade amount on our Seats to Suit services
- Tasman Flexi fares are fully refundable (unless previously upgraded from a Smart Saver fare when the amount paid for the Smart Saver fare remains non-refundable)
- Pacific Flexi fares are fully refundable when cancelled prior to departure (unless previously upgraded from a Smart Saver fare when the amount paid for the Smart Saver are remains non-refundable), except for Pacific Flexi fares for travel 13 December - 14 January which incur an AUD100 cancellation penalty, or a no-show penalty of 50% of the fare if cancelled and refunded after departure
- Tickets are not transferable to another person
- Airpoints™ members will earn Airpoints Dollars when travelling on Flexi fares
- Child discounts do not apply
- One infant (0 - 23 months) not requiring a seat may travel with each adult at the infant fare level (10% of the applicable adult fare (exclusive of fees & airport & government costs) for international flights), with subsequent infants travelling at the child fare level
- Flexi fares are one-way and may be combined with other fare types as follows:
Tasman Flexi fares- for international travel may only be combined with other Tasman Smart Saver, Flexi or Business Class fares
- may not be combined with domestic New Zealand Smart Saver or Flexi Plus fares. Domestic New Zealand add-on fares are available for travel within New Zealand in combination with Tasman Flexi fares
- for international travel may only be combined with other Pacific Smart Saver, Flexi or Business Class fares
- Stopovers are permitted as follows:
- when travelling on a Tasman Flexi fare, two stopovers are permitted at no additional charge
- when travelling on a Pacific Flexi fare, one unlimited stopover is permitted at no additional charge
¹ Pacific fares are limited to those fares to the Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Norfolk Island, Samoa,Tonga and Vanuatu. While Air New Zealand also flies to New Caledonia and Tahiti, our fares to these destinations have different terms and conditions to the fares explained here.
