All domestic New Zealand flights are eligible for seat request except for customers purchasing grabaseat™ fares.
For short-haul flights between New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands on our new Tasman and Pacific service seat request is only available for customers purchasing The Works or Works Deluxe products.
You can request seats online for all Air New Zealand long-haul flights.
You can request seats whether you've just made a new booking, or have a booking that was made some time ago.
Please note that while we will do our best to accommodate your requests, seating is not confirmed until check-in as operational requirements may require seating to be reassigned.
Requesting seats when you book
To request seats when you book online, look for this option on the confirmation page once you have purchased your ticket. There is no additional charge to request seats.
Requesting seats for existing bookings
You can request seats for a booking previously made online (or anywhere else) by retrieving your booking from the homepage. Or request your seats for a single booking right now. And if you're an Airpoints member, you can now view and manage all your bookings (including seat requests) in one place, with myairnz. Simply login to myairnz and choose My Flight Bookings under myBookings. If you haven't yet registered with myairnz (or previously with My Account) register now.
