Air New Zealand will introduce a Card Payment Fee (CPF) to the Australian market effective for all tickets issued on or after 15 September 2009.
Air New Zealand is one of the last airlines to establish a Card Payment Fee since it was first introduced in Australia in 2003.
The CPF will apply to Domestic New Zealand fares, Tasman and Short Haul Pacific Islands fares and all other International fares sold in Australia. The CPF will be included in itinerary pricing and collected as a flat fee.
For tickets issued in Australia on or after 15 September 2009, the applicable CPF is:
- AUD$3.00 for Domestic New Zealand fares (NZ GST inclusive)
- AUD$4.00 for Tasman and Short-Haul Pacific Islands fares
- AUD$10.00 for all other International fares
The CPF will be assessed on each airfare component in the itinerary.
Air New Zealand in Australia has recently introduced POLi, an online payment technology which enables customers to pay directly from their bank account and avoid paying a CPF. Customers in Australia who have access to the Pay Anyone functionality offered by a supported online banking facility can use POLi.
