Fashionistas around the globe will gain A-list entry to Air New Zealand Fashion Week with the launch of a new free-to-access website featuring highlights from exclusive designer shows.
The specially developed microsite www.seeairnzfashionweek.co.nz/ offers members of the public, for the first time, access to events that have previously been the domain of the fashion industry elite.
With no television broadcast of the designer shows, the microsite, which goes live on Sunday, is one of the only ways people can see this year's collections.
www.seeairnzfashionweek.co.nz/ will provide highlights of every Air New Zealand Fashion Week show within hours of it taking place and will allow people to select the shows they wish to view at leisure. Visitors to the site will be able to register to receive an email notification of when the shows they have selected are available for viewing.
"Air New Zealand is delighted to provide this fantastic service, which will allow people all around the world to join in the excitement that Air New Zealand Fashion Week generates," says Steve Bayliss, Air New Zealand General Marketing Manager.
"Air New Zealand Fashion Week sees the country's top designers showcasing their latest collections to local and international buyers and media. The new microsite www.seeairnzfashionweek.co.nz/ will allow this to take place on a wider scale, enabling those who can't attend the event to view shows wherever in the world they are," says Bayliss.
By visiting www.seeairnzfashionweek.co.nz/ Kiwi fashion followers can also enter to win seats on Air New Zealand's 30,000 foot Catwalk flight, which will feature a mid-flight sneak preview of the Winter 2008 collections on show at Air New Zealand Fashion Week.
The Air New Zealand flight from Sydney to Auckland departs on Sunday 16 September, arriving in time for the opening night of Air New Zealand Fashion Week. As well as the in-flight fashion shows, passengers will enjoy a champagne breakfast pre-flight party, drink bubbles during the flight, take away the all-important goodie bag and access to an exclusive post-Air New Zealand Fashion Week Opening Night party.
In addition to the ability to view designer shows and an opportunity to register for the 30,000ft Catwalk competition, www.seeairnzfashionweek.co.nz/ will feature in-flight style tips from designers, facts and figures on the event, details on where to buy New Zealand designer fashion, opportunity to take part in a fashion poll and book tickets for Air New Zealand Fashion Week 4 U.
The microsite format will further promote Air New Zealand Fashion Week as a high quality showcase of New Zealand fashion, providing up-to-date coverage for both New Zealand and international audiences.
"Buyers and consumers will now be able to access the magic of the shows and see all the key collection highlights at the touch of a mouse," says preeminent New Zealand designer, Trelise Cooper.
Comprehensive highlights of Air New Zealand Fashion Week will also be available on the airline's New Zealand Fashion Channel which has been part of Air New Zealand's in-flight entertainment for the past three years. This year the channel will be presented by Kiwi supermodel and fashion enthusiast Rachel Hunter.
